This holiday season is sure to be pleasing with a 5K, 10K, or 1-Mile
turkey trot. Join us on Thanksgiving day for the 13th Annual Laveen
Turkey Trot! Whether you are running to win or doing a fun, leisurely run
or walk, you are sure to enjoy the beauty of the South Mountain, the
Sierra Estrella Mountain ranges, Cesar Chavez Park, and Alvord Lake
with its very own island. With the professionally timed ultra-fast, flat
looping course, you stand a good chance of achieving your next PR,

This event is designed for both experienced runners and for those who
have NEVER run before or who choose to walk. More Importantly, it’s
underlying purpose is to provide an opportunity for the community to
come together, meet new friends and get connected while building
community spirit.
For over 60 years, the LCC has focused on getting kids and families from
underserved communities active and healthy by supporting Laveen Youth
Sports programs and Youth Development programs and organizations, the
Laveen scholarships, and community projects which better the quality of life
for everybody, and the communtiy as a whole.
This year our goal is to RAISE $25,000, a bit lofty but we are confident that
the community, local businesses and our sponsors can make all the difference
in the world, and with your suppport, referrals and helping out by volunteering,
you will get us to our goal of $25,000. ALL PROCEEDDS FROM THE TURKEY
TROT WILL GO RIGHT BACK INTO THE LAVEEN COMMUNITY, SCHOOLS
AND FOUNDATIONS.
The Laveen Community Council represents a venue through which those
living and working in Laveen and surrounding communities, can
communicate with one another about their collective identity & distinctive
ways of life.
